Qur’an Trinity & Mary

Qur’an Trinity & Mary

The Christian doctrine of the Trinity defines God as three divine persons God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The three persons are distinct yet coexist in unity, and are co-equal, co-eternal and consubstantial. According to this doctrine, God exists as three persons but is one God, meaning that God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have exactly the same nature or being as God the Father in every way.

And also many Christians have turned Mary into a godly figure:

“Pope Benedict XV said of Mary that "One can justly say that with Christ, she herself redeemed mankind." Pope Pius IX said: "Our salvation is based upon the holy Virgin... so that if there is any hope and spiritual healing for us we receive it solely and uniquely from her." (Did the Quran get the Trinity wrong? Sami Zaatari)

The Quran attacks both the Trinity, as well as Christians who have wrongly raised Mary to such a high degree that she has become like a god.

Qur’an 5:73
They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. …

Islam fights a heresy is found in paganism, it teaches that God has sexual relations with women to create other gods. And this heresy also finds its way to the Roman Catholic Church.

“Mary is “the faithful spouse of the Holy Spirit” since the Spirit formed Jesus Christ within Mary’s womb, and remained with her in raising the child Jesus. It follows, then, that the Holy Spirit wills to fashion Jesus in His chosen ones and unite them to God by giving all of His gifts in and through Mary.” (Michael McShurley -The Holy Trinity and the Blessed Virgin Mary- VOICES - Vol. XX No. 2 - Michaelmas 2005)

“Mary's Divine motherhood is based on the teaching of the Gospels, on the writings of the Fathers, and on the express definition of the Church. St. Matthew (1:25) testifies that Mary "brought forth her first-born son" and that He was called Jesus. According to St. John (1:15) Jesus is the Word made flesh, the Word Who assumed human nature in the womb of Mary. As Mary was truly the mother of Jesus, and as Jesus was truly God from the first moment of His conception, Mary is truly the mother of God. Even the earliest Fathers did not hesitate to draw this conclusion as may be seen in the writings of St. Ignatius , St. Irenaeus, and Tertullian. ((MARY WORSHIP? A Study of Catholic Practice and Doctrine. By (A Former Catholic Nun) Mary Ann Collins))

Qur'an 5:116
“And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, 'Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing thou wouldst indeed have known it. …”
