Son of God

When did Jesus become the Son of God?

Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

The thought that I want from that text is that GOD CANNOT LIE.

God the Father could not have called Christ as a Son until He became His Son. Does this sound logical? If Jesus had existed before He became God's Son, then God may have called Him as a brother, as a friend, may even have been said to call Himself, if as some say, Jesus was God Himself. However, He could not have called Him as His Son until He became His Son.

So, when did Jesus become the Son of God?

To find a true answer to this question we must search word of the ONE which is impossible to lie.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In the beginning was the Word. In next few verses we will read more about the beginning and what God did in the beginning.

Mic 5:2  And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me, to become Ruler in Israel, He whose goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.

And the Son of God declares concerning Himself:
PRO 8:22-27 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

PRO 8:30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

COL 1:15-17 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Hebrews 1:1-3 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high

        The Son of God is the express image and likeness of His Father He is the Son was brought forth (begotten) from the Father by whom also he made the worlds.

Heb 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Heb 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

        Jesus inherited the name of His Father. He is God by nature. Just like a human being who has a son, that son would also be a human being. So the Father who is divine (God) has a divine Son. He calls the Son God and commands all to worship Him.

Now let’s read few verse next to each other:

Mic 5:2 … He whose goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.

Joh 1:1 in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Pro 8:22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

Pro 8:23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

Summary,
Jesus was the firstborn of Heaven,
Jesus was dedicated to works of beneficence,
Jesus was in the beginning, before all creation,
Jesus was from of old, from the days of eternity.
In the beginning Jesus was possessed by His Father,
All creation was by Jesus, through the will of His Father,
